Many in the western panhandle remember the flooding rains of April 2014. Downtown Pensacola was among some of the worst hit areas with numerous businesses and homes damaged by rising flood waters. Many times extensive flooding is the result of changes made by man. MHW Attorney (and city resident) Erick Mead has suggested “daylighting” a ancient creek that flows through the downtown area as a possible solution that would include some benefits beyond better drainage. Recent articles and a interview conducted by WEAR TV have highlighted Erick’s suggestion.
